Overview

SDS Icon Grey

This course provides participants working as part of an Emergency Response Team with the skills and knowledge to undertake rescues from confined spaces.

This course involves the rescue of casualties from enclosed spaces either vertically or horizontally. Basic equipment used to carry out these rescues include breathing apparatus, rescue stretchers and working at height systems. Participants will be required to enter and work within confined areas, while wearing breathing apparatus. You will also be required to operate in situations that involve being close to exposed edges and/or being suspended in harnesses for short periods.

Whilst there is no set physical standard to attend the course, it can be physically demanding as it involves the rescue of a casualties weighing approximately 70kgs in tight spaces, therefore, participants should be physically fit.
